Leave a permanent legacy

To leave a legacy to the National Party, you can make a bequest, also known as a ‘gift in will’. A bequest to the National Foundation is a deferred gift that will leave a permanent legacy to the National Party.

In making a bequest you will honour National’s proud history, the hard work of the hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders who have joined us since we began in 1936 and the voices of generations of Kiwis who voted for National governments. You will help to secure National’s long-term future and to deliver strong, stable National governments in the years ahead.

Why your support matters

Political parties in New Zealand do not receive any state-funding to operate. National is entirely reliant on the generous support of our members and like-minded benefactors for our activities.

Without the goodwill of thousands of New Zealanders who share our values and care deeply about New Zealand’s future, we cannot shape New Zealand into the country we want our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to call home.

How to leave a bequest to the National Foundation

A bequest is a powerful way to support the National Party. Big or small, your gift will have a lasting impact. It’s easy to arrange, simply:

Amend your existing will with a codicil. A codicil allows you to amend your existing will without re-writing it. To arrange a codicil, simply consult your legal professional or will provider. The National Foundation can provide you with a codicil template.

Create a will. If you don’t already have a will, when you create one you can specify a gift to leave to the National Foundation. To create a will consult a legal professional or will provider.

Let us know. We understand that wills are a private and personal matter, but if you choose to leave a bequest to the National Foundation, please consider letting us know so we can recognise your generosity and thank you.
